Diary Entry: Learning from People around Us

Today I was at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore for a event. I could see all kinds of girls dressed in all kinds of dresses talking random shit showing unnecessary attitude. There was this old man, really old and had some problem as he was unable to walk straight. It looked like his whole body was shaking whenever he moved. His job was to pick-up litter all around the college. In his condition I would it was more than tiring and really difficult. I watched him for around 6 hours while I was there. I didn't  any girl giving him any respect or anything to eat, instead they would increase his work more by throwing the garbage randomly anywhere.

Neophobia: Fear of New things

Fear is something that might hinder your advances onto the next stage, be it anything, career, relationship, etc. Fear can be of many types, most of which have a cure. But there is one type of fear that dominates all other and, practically, has no cure at all. The Fear of New, also known as Neophobia. You will experience this type of fear at least once in your lifetime, even if you are the bravest of them all.

Unwanted Guests

Courtesy: NavinHarish.Org In Sanskrit there is a saying as per Indian tradition, "Atithi Devo Bhava", meaning 'Guest is God'. Indians have an obligation to treat their guests with the best they have, whether they can or not. Does this imply that guests can ask for anything that they may want from the host? With the changing times and traditions, people now-a-days feel not too happy when somebody visits unwantedly without prior information. With the fast paced life that we live and the busy schedules that everyone has, its hard to tend to guests without preparation.

Supernatural

Do you believe in Ghosts or such Supernatural beings? This question has been there since time immemorial. A large section of people around the world consider these as just made up phony theories and superstitious beliefs, used for telling interesting stories or scaring kids. But is it really so? There has been a long history of such scary stories. Many movies have now been filmed based on said true events, such as Annabelle, Conjuring and such other. But considering that it just might be a publicity stunt from the film-makers, we can deny it. But what if something of the sort happens with you in reality? Would you believe it then?

Diverting People's Minds

Congress has been trying to divert everyone's attention from focusing on the good things that we people might do instead of stretching former IPL chief Lalit Modi's escape to UK. Now I am no member or supporter of any political party, but as a responsible citizen of the country I do have my opinions.

Yoga

Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The origins of yoga have been speculated to date back to pre-Vedic Indian traditions, but most likely developed around the 6th and 5th centuries BCE. The yoga practices were then spread throughout the world during the late 19th century and early 20th century by Yoga gurus following the success of Swami Vivekananda.

Father's Day

My Father. Father is the first ideal person in the family that the child gets to know and respects without even knowing it. I do it and this Father's day I write this article as a tribute to my father for raising me with all he had, loving me with all his heart and never showing it on the face. God knows how many things he wishes for himself. I know he wants a camera and loves photography, but I also know that he had abandoned most of the things he wanted just to give me and my brother the best he could. He gave us the best qualities, respecting elders and loving youngers while having a pride of our own. He knows when we are hurt and when we are happy. He still does a lot to make us happy and not let us be hurt. He would always give us the right advices that would help us in life forever. I have lived   happily because of him and now its my turn to make his life easy and happy for him. I promise you Father, I would make you proud of me. This Father's Day,

Water crisis soon to come

According to a UN report, by the year 2030 there will only be 60% of water required in the whole world without a significant policy change. Now that’s a pretty serious situation since in 15 years we are going to have to pay water coming in our homes if this keeps up. Being an Indian, I have how water is used in India. The country is taking its water reserves for granted and is wasting a lot of it without even trying to save a little. With the Global warming, rainfall patterns all over the world have become more unpredictable and cannot be said to rely on. And as population increases so does the demand for potable water, which is going to be hot crisis soon. “India’s groundwater tables are plunging at an alarming rate with reserves in some states dwindling to critical levels. Over 16% of groundwater resources are ‘over exploited’ – mainly in north-western, western and peninsular India. Groundwater extraction in some states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan has reach

Respect or money, Which is important?

“A person should not run after money in life, it should be respect he must look for and try his hardest. Money will come eventually.” This was a statement said to me by one of my close friends. But is it really so, I wonder sometimes. In this era of materialistic life and money-minded people, can respect be earned if you don’t have money? I personally think otherwise. I have found through my experiences and by watching others lives, that when we have money, we get respect. And even if you earned good respect while you had money, once it’s gone, your earned respect will also start to fade away from people’s hearts. You would wonder why I would say this. So let me give you an example. One of my acquaintances, a very good guy by nature and character, worked in a firm. He earned enough to make his life comfortable. In his 8 months of working, and a year since I have known him, whenever a friend of his needed some help from him he would run to his aid. Be it money, time or his a
