Yoga

Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The origins of yoga have been speculated to date back to pre-Vedic Indian traditions, but most likely developed around the 6th and 5th centuries BCE. The yoga practices were then spread throughout the world during the late 19th century and early 20th century by Yoga gurus following the success of Swami Vivekananda.

Indian traditions consider Yoga to be more than just a physical exercise, it has meditative and spiritual core. One of India's Tridev's, Lord Shiva is considered to be the earliest Yogi, so named as Adi-Yogi. He is also the first Yoga Guru Indian mythologies mention and thus also call him as Adi-Guru. Yoga, apart from being just a spiritual practice and daily exercise, is also a beneficial practice for improving many medical conditions a person might have.

Long term Yoga users have shown improvements in muscoskeletal and mental health. It has also been reported to improve mood and anxiety. With the betterment in lifestyles that are now proven with Yoga, it is one of the important things that we should do in our daily routine.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suggestion to declare June 21st, the Summer Solstice, as the International Day of Yoga(IDY), UN did so on December 11, 2014. The 1st IDY was celebrated with whole nation doing Yoga while our PM Narendra Modi was doing with 35984 people on Rajpath, The largest Yoga class ever held and 83 other countries participating in the event. This event won 2 Guinness World Records.

Now Yoga has been included in everyday curriculum into the schools in India by Smriti Irani, HRD Minister of India. Let's make this effort made by our PM a success.

A tribute to Nance, The Cutest Kitten

make money online This article is written by my friend, Anjala Singh and I am just fulfilling a request she asked me. Everybody loves pets, right? Someone prefers a dog, someone a cat and some other like to keep a parrot. We have also seen people keeping an eagle, a pig, a rat, a chimpanzee and even a tiger too as a pet. Well, everyone has their own taste. But, what do we mean when we take up some random animal as pet? What I think is, a pet is like a child, one that loves you back as much, and sometimes even more, as you love it. You take care of it, love it, spend as much time as you like with it. You sometimes get angry at it too. But it never hates you or annoys you with its unnecessary yapping. They are the closest to you and understand what you are saying even if they don't speak you language.

A History in the Making

Indian PM, Narendra Modi has announced the cancellation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes and launched new Rs. 2000 notes. This has created mixed response from the public. People had posed many questions, like what was the need to launch 2000Rs. notes? Do the people standing in the line have black money? Who is going to take responsibility for those who died while waiting in those lines? PM Modi has promised to bring black money from outside India, where is it? And many more... Have you ever thought that if our previous PMs would have taken strict actions against black money and terrorism, we would never have needed this change. What did we do when people were taking bribes? Did we stop them? No, instead we looked for an easy way out. What did we do when our ministers kept backing out from their promises after elections? We just sat and watched and then made comments on India's situation. Think before you raise questions. We will have more discussion on this and you are wel
