Diary Entry: Learning from People around Us

Today I was at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore for a event. I could see all kinds of girls dressed in all kinds of dresses talking random shit showing unnecessary attitude. There was this old man, really old and had some problem as he was unable to walk straight. It looked like his whole body was shaking whenever he moved. His job was to pick-up litter all around the college. In his condition I would it was more than tiring and really difficult. I watched him for around 6 hours while I was there. I didn't  any girl giving him any respect or anything to eat, instead they would increase his work more by throwing the garbage randomly anywhere.

But this man relentlessly went on doing his work, all 6 hours while I was there. I did not see him rest for even 5 minutes. After watching him for around 5 hours I was beginning to think that people complain about their jobs but this man, I did not even see a frown on his face all this while. He kept ever-smiling and happy to everyone who he saw.

Then at around 3o'clock this guy from Pizza-Hut stall picked up a pizza box for which he had paid from his own pocket and gave it to the old man free of cost. I was amazed as well as ashamed that I could not think of doing this. I felt respect from my heart for the Guy and was happy for the old man. I realized that everyone in this world is not negligent.

I learned that the people around us are really like teachers to us. We just have to observant and accepting to learn things from them. The old man taught me never to complain about anything and keep a smiling face. The guy from Pizza Hut taught me to be generous and kind to everyone without discrimination.
